NOTE CHANGE OF DATE – The club prize giving evening will take place in the clubhouse on Saturday 15th November 2014 starting at 7pm.

As another year of club racing draws to an end now is the time to polish your shoes and get your best clobber out to attend the clubs annual prize giving evening to collect the prizes you’ve won, applaud those who beat you or just to watch you sailing ‘hero’ collect their prize. The club prize giving evening will take place in the clubhouse on Saturday 15th November 2014 starting at 7pm. The bar will be open from 6.30pm and there will be a light buffet provide.

LLSC Success at RYA Zone Squad Championships

Podium finishes for LLSC in every class at the weekends RYA West Zone Squad champs. LLSC junior sailors continued with their recent top form with a first and third in the optimists from Archie Leckie and Harvey Leigh, a win in the RS Fevas from brother Matt Leckie and Izzy Bristow and a second in the Toppers from Lorcan Knowles. On the 28th September 2014 Leigh & Lowton Sailing Club hosted their annual Solo open meeting at Pennington Flash. This event forms part of the North West travellers’ series. Topper Open tests competitors to the full

Leigh & Lowton SC played host to the last of the North West Traveller Series for 2014 on Saturday 20th September.  The event was held in tough conditions for the young competitors searching for zone squad places.  The wind was fickle and shifting for the first two races and then came good for the last one, the competitors dealt well with the light winds and changing courses through the day as the OOD adapted his plans to the conditions. LLSC gets 1st 1st 1st at Travellers

LLSC Juniors cleaned up again in the first open meeting after their largest training camp ever in the North West. All 3 fleets at the Redesmere North West Travellers event were claimed by LLSC sailors. Peter Baldwin, OOD on the day praised the effort of LLSC club sailors. Junior Camp

With 50 children on the LLSC Summer 2014 Camp it was always going to be a tough job for the instructors. The challenge was made all the more harder on day 1 with an Easterly 15 knots wind 15 gusting 25 blowing straight down the Flash. The great news is that all the children got out on the water and most enjoyed it. There were a few capsizes and the four rescue boats were pressed into service.    Emptyish dinghy park....
