A dozen brave juniors took part in the NW IOCA optimist training on Saturday in steady winds as part of the junior winter training program. North Optimists sailors joined in with the Tipsy Icicle series. Despite the awful weather they had travelled through snowdrifts on Friday from Scotland, The North East, and Wales. The LLSC Junior Winter Regatta on 3rd January attracted 44 entries to Pennington Flash. The galley was bustling from 9.00 clock with travellers arriving as far away from Bowmoor, Windemere and Brennig for this annual event. The first race was started from the committee boat on time at 11.00am by OOD Richard Catchpole in a very light NE wind.
