‘Barts Bash’ on the 20th September 2015

Solo Northern Travellers series at Leigh & Lowton Sailing Club

  The Solo Northern Travellers series resumed after the summer break with 35 helms arriving at Leigh & Lowton sailing club to be greeted by bright sunshine, an unseasonably high air temperature and absolutely no breeze whatsoever. When what little wind there was occasionally filled in it was not across the whole course and came with big wind shifts of up to 90 degrees and throughout the day, when it was there, averaged 4 to 5 knots over the day....

Topper and Optimist Zone Indicators – Double Home Wins for LLSC, Sam Cooper clinches NW Topper Series

Over 50 Northern Topper and Optimist competitors were welcomed by Leigh & Lowton Sailing Club for the Topper Traveller (doubling up as Zone indicator) and Optimist Zone training. Just to inform our members that one of our Honorary members,Maureen Henderson, died peacefully in her sleep last Friday aged 90 years. Older members will remember Maureen as the mother of Debbie Taylor, mother-in-law to Roger and Grandmother (plus baby sitter in the club house when Roger & Debbie were out sailing) to Jenny and Pippa. She was also a very active member and volunteer throughout her time at Leigh & Lowton. Our thoughts are with the family at this...

Regatta Weekend

Leigh & Lowton Sailing Club hosted their annual regatta over the weekend of the 11/12th July with three races (two to count) each day and incorporating a Miracle open meeting and the IOCA North West Championship with the overall results for these classes being based the two days racing.
