Dave Eccles memorial Race Day

On Saturday 16th November, friends and family gathered for a memorial race and celebration of the life of Dave Eccles.
Over 40 sailors from clubs across the region and north Wales participated in a one off pursuit race. This reflects how many people’s lives were touched by Dave and how widespread he influenced others. This was followed by a Celebration of Dave’s life in the Club House, together with non sailing family, friends and neighbours.
I know how much this opportunity meant for people to be able to gather and pay their respects to Dave and share memories of how he contributed to their sailing and lives.
I think it fitting to conclude with the words of Dave’s daughter below.
Thank you to all who attended the celebration of life for my dad at LLSC on Saturday. It seems we were fortuitous with the wind as Sunday sailing was abandoned due to mill pond conditions! A few people have asked me to share the link to the secure site for donations to the RNLI, I shall post the link at the bottom. Thank you to those who have already donated and to those who intend to. With the entry fees and donations on the day, we have exceeded around £1000 for a very worthy cause.
