Junior/Youth Events Calendar – 2013
April Friday 19th April – 7.00pm start – Start up session for Intermediates and Advanced Group
May Wednesday 1st May – 7.00pm start – Introduction to beginners Friday nights and camps – “parents training”, followed by dinner at the club (approx. £4 per person)
Friday 3rd May – 7.00pm start – Friday nights beginners start – RYA 1 & 2 training; sign up with Fiona White [email protected].
Sunday 12th May – 12.00 start – Junior Race Series 1, 2, 3.
Saturday 18th May – 11.00 start – LLSC Northwest Junior Traveler event
Monday 27th May – Weds 29th June – Half Term Camp for beginners, intermediates, advanced – register with Fiona White at [email protected] to avoid disappointment. As last year a great combination of fun and training with RYA instructor and our own youth instructors
July Sunday 7th July – 12.00 start – Junior Race Series races 4, 5, 6
Saturday/Sunday 13th/14th July – Regatta Weekend with separate junior start/series and Optimist Open Saturday only/NW Area Champs full weekend (see website for details of racing and fun events including the bottle boat race)
Saturday 20th July – Intermediates training and assessment – replaces the Friday night for the intermediates (19th July), normal Friday for the rest f the group.
August Monday 26th August – Topper/Laser 6 hr race – just put a team together – adults welcome to try to beat the kids if you dare!!) – games onshore
Tuesday 27th August – Thurs 29th August – Summer Camp for beginners, intermediates, advanced – register with Fiona White at [email protected] to avoid disappointment. As last year a great combination of fun and training with RYA instructors
September Sunday 8th September – 12.00 start – Junior Race Series 7, 8, 9
Saturday 14th September – RYA Topper training
Saturday 21st September – 10.30 start – LLSC NW Topper Traveller
Saturday/Sunday 29th/30th September – RYA Zone Championships – at Draycote SC

Sunday 27th October – 12.00 start – Junior Race Series 10, 11, 12
November
Sunday 3rd November – 12.40 start – Guy Fawkes Pursuit
Saturday 9th November – evening – Prize-giving
January
1st January – 12.40 start – New Year’s Day pursuit
Note:
The Junior Race Series will be a 12 race series, with 7 races to count to qualify. The overall winner of this series will be awarded “Junior Club Champion” trophy. This is a good series to cut your teeth on and get involved in club racing.
