Dragon Boat Race

Leigh and Lowton Sailing Club are delighted to once again be the host for think-ahead‘s Dragon boat race on 6th September, which is a great even and raises money for the stroke support charity. Whether it’s for team-building, or just a fun day out, the race offers teams the opportunity to battle it out on Pennington Flash, with proceeds going towards supporting Wigan borough stroke survivors, carers and their families. 2019 Yearbook out now

They’ve arrived!!…yes, your 2019 yearbook will be available to collect from the clubhouse this coming Sunday 3rd March so, to save us postage, be sure to collect yours by hand ASAP so you can use the calendar of events planned to plan your year’s sailing.

Tipsy Series Changes

Following the unprecedented conditions during January of either no wind or too much wind, resulting in the loss of most of the races, we have taken the decision to amend the schedule for the remainder of the series in order to run additional races. From Sunday 10th February the first race each Sunday is now scheduled to start at 11:30 rather than the previous 12:00. This will allow time for a 3rd race each day. The plan is 1 race...

Sailing Cancelled Sunday 27th January

Given the wind forecast for tomorrow is for 25 gusting 40+ we have taken the reluctant decision to cancel sailing and the club will be closed for the day. We look forward to seeing you next Sunday.

MP Jo Platt supports Leigh & Lowton’s RYA “Try Sailing” day

Jo Platt, MP for Leigh, came along to Pennington Flash to check out the RYA Try Sailing day (Push the Boat Out). She arrived to see bright sunshine and the lake full of boats and activity with many of our members and visitors out on the water.
