The ever popular Leigh & Lowton Winter Series kicks off with its New Year’s Day Pursuit Race on January 1st. The first start time (for Optimists) is 12.40pm with the other fleets following on, so it’s a leisurely start time after New Year’s Eve. This year 51 boats took part in the Leigh & Lowton Revett Series – 5 Sundays from early November to early December.  This was despite a very challenging series with no weather with the “normal” range of wind conditions throughout the series.  Racing on two weekends was abandoned due to zero wind, two weekends were held in very light conditions before the final day arrived to deliver up to 35 knot gusts to blow the cobwebs away after the Xmas...
