The weekend of the 12th and 13th July saw Leigh & Lowton sailing club play host to a total of 68 boats as the Miracle inland championships and the North West junior Optimist championships were run alongside the clubs annual regatta weekend. I have received the sad News that Carl Humphries passed away on Wednesday evening 9/7/14. Carl had been fighting Cancer for almost 18 months. For those that didn’t have the pleasure of knowing him. The 2014 LLSC Junior Travellers will be remembered by all for the glorious sunshine and favorable wind. A westerly F2/3 allowed the Race Officer Mike Baldwin to set a simple trapezoid course with a beat up most of the length of Pennington Flash with a wing mark near the club house for a good view by the spectators. The 48 sailors behaved themselves on 8 of the 9 starts with only one errant Laser sailor over the line on the last start sequence of the day....
