PRO Alex Morrison signalled a postponement and advised an early dinner and an hour later the flags began to flutter into life as a light southerly breeze filled in, was allowed to steady and then 42 boats went afloat to contest the event. It was one of those frustrating days when you just had to be...
The Solo Northern Travellers series resumed after the summer break with 35 helms arriving at Leigh & Lowton sailing club to be greeted by bright sunshine, an unseasonably high air temperature and absolutely no breeze whatsoever. When what little wind there was occasionally filled in it was not across the whole course and came with big wind shifts of up to 90 degrees and throughout the day, when it was there, averaged 4 to 5 knots over the day....

If you want to sail all three races or just the ‘Barts Bash’ one please register yourself for the race via the...
Just to inform our members that one of our Honorary members,Maureen Henderson, died peacefully in her sleep last Friday aged 90 years. Older members will remember Maureen as the mother of Debbie Taylor, mother-in-law to Roger and Grandmother (plus baby sitter in the club house when Roger & Debbie were out sailing) to Jenny and Pippa. She was also a very active member and volunteer throughout her time at Leigh & Lowton. Our thoughts are with the family at this...

Saturday morning dawned bright and breezy with a gusty Force 3 to 4 south westerly breeze as 51 boats took to the water for the four separate fleet starts. First away...
On Saturday 16th May Leigh & Lowton Sailing Club took part in the RYAs ‘Push The Boat Out’ scheme with the aim of introducing previously non-sailing members of the public to the joys of our sport by offering ‘have a go’ taster sessions at the club. Thankfully the sun shone and the forecast for plenty of wind did not deter people from turning up and taking to the water. It was busy throughout the day as individuals, families young...
