Junior 12 Hour Race, Southport Marine Lake, 29th June 2013 Sailed in a Force 2-3 breeze with Force 4 gusts this year, Leigh and Lowton’s juniors performed brilliantly to take 5th place out of 29 boats.

The two day Miracle Northern Championships held at Delph Sailing Club near Bolton saw a return to form of Wayne Atherton sailing in a new partnership with experienced Miracle crew Angela Sweeney. The pair managed to win the event by sailing just the three races on the Sunday of the two-day event. To all powerboat coxes, following the recent incident in Padstow and the amount of damage currently impacting the club boats we are running additional sessions of the one-minute rescue to remind us all of our duties and responsibilities in running the rescue boats at the club. There were 28 boats in total in the three fleets which sailed at Pennington Flash on Saturday. The sailing was close across all fleets with the results of the Handicap fleet being decided on discards. In the end it was Sam Platt from Bolton in his Topper who took the top spot with the Feva of Hannah Bristow and Bobby Hewitt from LLSC a close second place.
