North West Senior Travellers

Leigh and Lowton SC hosted the final event of the RYA North West Senior Traveller Trophy on Tuesday 20th September. This mid-week handicap event for the over 50s has attracted 39 boats from just 4 clubs. The day started with light rain and little wind but steadily improved as the day wore on, with sunshine and 10 knots of wind by the last race. After a short postponement the first race got under way in little more than drifting conditions.

Our team sailed in some very testing conditions last weekend at the 45th West Lancs Yacht Club 24 Hour race. Sport England Grant Success

We are pleased to announce that we have been successful in obtaining a Lottery Funded Sport England Grant towards the cost of two new training dinghies for the club. The two Topper Xenons will release two of our club GPs to become available for use for our newly qualified members to hire to improve their skills on the water before taking the important decision about what dinghy is the best one for them to progress to.

Use of the Club Fevas

Use of the Club Fevas

The club Fevas can be used for free during club training, as all the club boats are. In addition we are introducing the facility for club members to use the boats to start sailing after training or take kids out on the water themselves.
