Our annual NWJTT event will take place on Saturday 19th May. Competitors briefing at 10.30am, first race at 11.00am. Three races, two to count. Handicap, Youth and Optimist fleets (numbers permitting). The galley will be open all day, serving great food. Entry £7 per boat.
Do you need advice on rigging? Help with your tacking or just an opportunity to sail with the safety of a rescue boat whilst the flash is quiet? I am planning to be at the club on Saturday from 10am. We have a change to the duty system which we hope will help people to fulfil their duties and support the club in providing its club racing programme. Seven members have agreed to take on the role of ‘Duty Captains’. In this role they will co-ordinate the duty rota for a specific series during the summer racing. RNLI Results The forecast for sunny weather brought out the shorty wetsuits for the annual pursuit race in aid of the RNLI. Unfortunately, the wind was not so obliging as the sun and as the Optimists made their way out to the start line, the anemometer was struggling to reach 3 knots.
The RS400 Bollé Northern Tour kicked of in style at Leigh & Lowton Sailing Club on the 17/18 March. As forecasted the 16 strong fleet launched in very light winds, however by the second lap a dark cloud brought in planing conditions and big shifts. Paul & Mike Allen (LLSC) finished first, followed by Dave Exley & Nigel Hall (LLSC) and Caroline Exley & Jude Allen (LLSC).
