John Kelly Olympic Torch Update

John has now received his white tracksuit and is all set to carry the Olympic torch on Saturday 23rd June. He will be carrying the torch on Bury New Road (A56) between Cross Street (opposite Whitefield Fire Station) and Church Lane, with an anticipated start-time of 4.24 pm. We hope to get a group to cheer and support John – we’ll work on a meeting point so people know where to be at what time and post more details soon.

John was nominated to carry the torch for the outstanding commitment he has given to LLSC and teaching sailing over the last 40 years – so let’s go and support him on 23rd June!

Please be aware that there will be road closures around the area of the torch route so leave plenty of time to get there.
