Continuing Junior Success

LLSC Topper 29er & Feva sailors returning fantastic results on National level events. Olli Blackburn got a podium 3rd at the Topper National series at light winded Derwent Reservoir this weekend with Haydn Griffiths (Tallyman) close behind with a very respectable 5th . 111 entries.

Last weekend at the Topper Northern Champs at Bassenthwaite , LLSC DOMINATED with Nick Deveraux taking the honours Haydn Griffiths 2nd ,
James Grumitt 3rd ,Dan Budden 4th and Lucy Mearns 5th. A very close fought event in light airs. Entry 33.

Sunshine girl ,Steph Wingate has been  selected to represent Team GBR no less in the Irish Topper Nationals. Ooow get you.!

Else where Jamie Catchpole and Curtis Mearns podiumed 3rd at the Grand Prix 29er event at Weymouth
Putting the youth squad firmly back in their boxes. Entry 55.

Hannah Bristow & Booby Hewitt battled an entry of 44  boats at the Feva Grand Prix, also at Weymouth they nearly podiumed with a well deserved 4th overall.

We have some up and coming stars in the Optimist fleet who feature regularly at local events.
Archie Leckie ; keep an eye on him for the future, Young Harvey Leigh, Sian Talbot and Olivier Cuthbert regularly swapping places to take Honours at
various events.

So all in all not bad, not bad at all for a little club ” Up North’. Most of the sailors away now until the end of August competing in their various classes on Worlds and National events.
