NWJTT – 18th May 2013 – a good days sailing
There were 28 boats in total in the three fleets which sailed at Pennington Flash on Saturday. The sailing was close across all fleets with the results of the Handicap fleet being decided on discards. In the end it was Sam Platt from Bolton in his Topper who took the top spot with the Feva of Hannah Bristow and Bobby Hewitt from LLSC a close second place. Dan Budden from LLSC was third, also in a Topper.
In the Oppies, Olivia Cuthbert from the home club was the winner with two bullets to count, closely followed by Sandy Simpson from Annadale. Drew Gibbons from Redesmere was third.
In the Youth fleet, numbers were a little down with only five boats in the fleet. Andy Green (LLSC) won the first race and was leading comfortably in the second until a disastrous final beat allowed Oliver Davenport (Redesmere) to catch up and just get his nose in front at the finish. In the final race, Gareth Staple-Jones got the better of Oliver leaving the results decided on discards again, Oliver taking the top spot.
