RYA PY Returns – makes interesting reading!

This year LLSC have submitted their annual RYA PY return via the PYS website and below are the results. The PYS website uses a methodology based around Bench Marking to calculate the suggested handicaps. The big fleets like RS400, Solo, Laser are unlikely to move as they are set as the bench mark therefore the other fleets will move around them. Outliers (extreme results) are also excluded to generate a better average result. In 2011, 140 races were inputted into the system with 803 individual boat results being counted.

A newer RYA PY website is currently being developed (rolled out Spring 2012) to improve the ease of use and to help clubs implement local handicaps.
