Entries are invited for the National 12 Inland Championship organised by Leigh and Lowton Sailing Club on 5/6th November 2011

1 RULES
1.1 The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing.
1.2 The RYA prescriptions to the Racing Rules of Sailing will apply.
1.3 The Sailing Instructions will apply.
1.4 Racing rule 40 will be changed – Use of personal buoyancy. When on the water competitors shall wear adequate personal buoyancy.

2 ADVERTISING
Advertising will be designated as Category C.

3 ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY
3.1 The Championship is open to boats of the National 12 class.
3.2 Eligible boats may enter at Leigh and Lowton Sailing Club between 10.00hrs and 11.30hrs on 5thNovember 2011.

4 FEES
The entry fee is £25.

5 SCHEDULE
5.1 There will be 3 races on Saturday 5thNovember starting at midday and 2 races on Sunday 6thNovember starting at 10am.
5.2 The scheduled time of the warning signal on Saturday 5thNovember is 11.55 hrs and on Sunday 6thNovember is 09:55 hrs

6 MEASUREMENTS
Boats may be requested to provide a valid measurement certificate.

7 SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
The sailing instructions will be available during registration.

9 THE COURSES
The courses to be sailed are described in the Sailing Instructions.

10 PENALTY SYSTEM
10.1 The penalties are as detailed in RRS 44.
10.2 The Exoneration penalty (and the Advisory Hearing and RYA Arbitration procedures) of the RYA Rules Disputes Procedures will be available.

11 SCORING
11.1 The Low Point System of Appendix A will apply.
11.2 3 races are required to be completed to constitute a series.
11.3 When fewer than 3 races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores.
When 3 or more races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her worst score.

12 RADIO COMMUNICATION
Except in an emergency, a boat shall neither make radio transmissions while racing nor receive radio communications not available to all boats. This restriction also applies to mobile telephones.

13 PRIZES
Prizes will be awarded to the leading boat in each class and to a number of other boats at the discretion of the organisers. Admirals Cup, Vintage and Junior prizes will be awarded.

14 DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY
Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See rule 4, Decision to Race. The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta.

15 INSURANCE
Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance with a minimum cover of £2 million per event or the equivalent.
