Entries for the UK’s biggest club winter program are open!

LLSC get Fibre Optic Internet Connection

Leigh and Lowton Sailing Club took have just made a techy improvement for members and visitors by installing a fibre optic broadband. The new connection is more than 30 times quicker, considerably more reliable and costs less money. New wireless equipment allows over 20 users to connect simultaneously. Some members are reporting they can now access the signal from the OOD box. The network name is LLSC and there is no password at the time of writing.

Pennington Flash – History

A Flash is a water-filled hollow formed by subsidence. Pennington Flash is on land that was prone to flooding from Hey Brook and Westleigh Brook in an area where there was subsidence from the local coal mines. The Brooks flooded every few years, usually in Spring. Before the Flash became permanent the land was used for farming.
